The color of rosé wine usually ranges from pink orange to almost purple, similar to red wines, and depends on the production techniques. There are three major ways to make rosé wine: skin contact, blending and saignée (that’s just a fancy French word that means bleeding, but we had to use it to impress you, and show you that we actually know what we are talking about). When rose wine is made with the skin contact method, dark grape skins are left in contact with the pulp from 1 to 3 days after the grapes were crushed, and then discarded, so that fermentation can occur without them. Bleeding assumes removal of some of the juice at an early stage of the process of making red wine, resulting in higher concentration of tannins in the vats and more intense color. The removed pink juice is then fermented separately to produce rosé. The last method – blending is the least desirable technique, which actually is forbidden in France, and involves mixing together red and white wine to achieve rose color.

They are dry , unlike the sweet white zinfandels, and are made with red wine grapes; cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec, sangiovese, etc. Rosé's are a combination of the body of a red wine with the lightness of a white wine. Rosé's are ideal to drink in the warm summer air. Take a journey with Aries around the Rosé wine world.

Freshly cut watermelon, ripe peach aromas and floral notes lead to a palate alive with wild strawberries and hints of mineral notes. Crisp acidity and a refreshing finish. Blend: 38% Cinsault, 32% Grenache, 23% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon."A fresh and juicy rosé with notes of grapefruit, white pepper and dried flowers. Medium body with bright acidity. Vivid and well-balanced with a fruity, delicious finish. The grapes are gently destemmed, cooled and pressed. The juice and the skins remain in contact for 24 hours. After this brief maceration, 8% of the Syrah goes straight into wooden barrels for primary and malolactic fermentation. The Cinsault, Grenache and remaining Syrah are fermented in stainless steel tanks, blocked from malolactic fermentation. The two different lots are aged separately and blended prior to bottling.

This one, Marjorie’s Rosé named for Marjorie McCall, McCall Wines founder Russ McCall’s mother is yet another absolutely stunning example of an exceptional Long Island rosé. The sustainably farmed grapes for this wine are hand picked and crushed with a very short skin contact time to impart the lovely pale pink color of this rosé. Marjorie’s Rosé is so soft, smooth and easily drinkable, the one problem you may have with it is how fast it disappears from your glass. The rosé is created with a combination of 51% syrah and 49% merlot. It is fruit forward and filled with the flavors of black cherry and ripe raspberry. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged for three months before bottling. While this wine is perfect for picnics and barbecues, it’s sophisticated enough for seafood dinners, lobster, shrimp, oysters, and clams. It’s also a perfect complement for light summer dishes like salads and fruits.

This sparkling wine is produced by the soft pressing of selected Raboso grapes from the Piave and Trentino Lagrien area. The bright color is peach pink with deli- cate deep red glimmers. It has a delicate perlage and the foam is rich and persistent. The aroma is reminiscent of pink grapefruit, raspberry and blackcurrant with a hint of wild roses. Its taste is intense with adequate acidity, well-balanced and fresh with notes of raspberry.

Rosé Imperial displays a pink color with amber highlights. Lively and intense, the bouquet exudes red fruits (wild strawberry, raspberry, cherry) with floral nuances of rose and a slight hint of pepper. On the palate, the wine shows a juicy intensity of berries (strawberry, raspberry, red currant) rounded out by the fleshiness and firmness of peach and the freshness of a subtle note of mint.

“A rosé of pinot noir from the Côte des Bars, this gains its color from a short maceration on the grape skins. The ripeness of the fruit comes through in exotic spices, like Szechuan peppercorns if they could buzz with coolness rather than heat. The red fruit flavor is tight and savory, without even a whisper of sweetness, lasting with gentle, quiet persistence.
