Description
Established in 1825, the Edradour distillery derives its name from Gaelic, meaning “between two rivers,” and holds the distinction of being Scotland’s tiniest distillery, housing a single wash still and a spirit still, which teeter on the brink of classification as portable stills due to their diminutive size.
Edradour’s lack of chill filtration contributes to a more robust and flavorful character. This whisky may turn cloudy when stored in a cool place but it does not affect the flavor in any way. The palate unfolds with a delightful blend of red berry fruits, spiced sultanas, maple syrup, and almonds, complemented by a touch of Dolly Mixtures, while the presence of exquisite oak Oloroso casks imparts depth and fullness as a backdrop. The distinct mouthfeel originating from Scotland’s smallest traditional stills is notably heightened.
