Cragganmore 12yr Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Cragganmore distillery was founded in 1869 by John Smith, and it is located in the village of Ballindalloch, Banffshire, Scotland. The name Cragganmore, translated from Gaelic means “big rock”. It is one of the most well-known Speyside distilleries, making several of the world’s best whiskys and winning multiple awards.
Cragganmore 12yr is an elegant and sophisticated Speyside malt, unbelievably complex and satisfyingly delicious! It was matured in second-fill bourbon casks, to reduce the woodiness of the first-fill barrels, and bottled at 80 proof. It was chosen by the Diageo Group to be representative of Speyside in their “Classic Malt” series.
The nose of this whisky offers a silky and rich character with herbal undertones, intertwined with fruity notes and subtle touches of leather and chestnut. On the palate, a savory sensation emerges, highlighting flavors of honey, blackberry, and an array of fruits, along with hints of walnuts and dried apricots, resulting in a robust and intricate profile. The finish is notably long, characterized by floral nuances and a delicate hint of smoke. Overall, this malt presents an impressive level of complexity, making it a valuable and worthwhile choice for enthusiasts seeking a multifaceted whisky experience.
