Brenne Single Malt French Whisky

Brenne Single Malt French Whisky

Brenne is a new and exciting single malt from France, aged in new Limousin oak and Cognac casks and offering notes of perfumed fruit.

Brenne is an exciting brand-new single malt from France. Brenne Single Malt French Whisky starts in new Limousin oak barrels before being finished in Cognac casks, giving Brenne a hint of perfumed fruit that sets it apart from other whiskies. Each bottle of Brenne comes from a single barrel selected at its peak. The barrels are never blended. Each barrel number is stamped on the back label. Using cool fermentation and small batch production, Brenne is twice distilled in copper alembic stills for a smooth finish. There is no age statement on the label because as Brenne Estate Cask is bottled individually by the barrel, the aging for each cask differs as it depends on how long the Cognac was in the barrel before. On average, the whisky ages for a total of about seven years. Bottled at 40% abv (80 proof)

The nose is intensely floral at first: roses, lilies, and magnolia. Then sweet and fruit flavors arise: candy orange cream, a hint of banana, apricot, and sweetened whipped cream. Milk and white chocolate with orange apricot cream coat the palate. There is the brightness of citric acid at the mid-palate expansion. The gentle, soft mouthfeel is light but still silky. It finishes with whispy vanilla, a creamy candy afterglow, and a warm herbal glow, with some hints of the spicy heat.
