Single Grain Whisk(e)y is a category of spirits, that are distilled at a single distillery from any kind of grain, usually corn, or wheat. In Scotland, in order to be called a single grain Scotch whisky, the spirits must be distilled at a single distillery (usually in a column still) from any combination of grains, and aged for at least 3 years in oak barrels. The majority of single grain whiskies are used in blends, where they are mixed with single malt whisky, but there are quite a few single grain bottlings worth checking out, especially some older editions, that provide an outstanding value.
