Description

World’s End is a tradition-defying Napa Valley project from Jonathan Maltus, the visionary English vigneron behind Château Teyssier and Le Dôme in St.-Émilion. Sourced from prestigious vineyards on Napa Valley’s west-facing slopes and the valley floor, these wines marry French-inspired winemaking with the power and precision of Napa terroir. Since 2008, Maltus has crafted single-vineyard Napa wines that reflect both his iconoclastic spirit and meticulous approach, naming each cuvée after legendary rock ’n roll songs.

The wine opens with a strikingly expressive perfume of red and black currants, ripe blackberries, and blueberries, layered with smoked tobacco, graphite, bouquet garni, baking spices, toasted cedar, and grilled herbs. The aromatics are deep and complex, immediately signaling both richness and refinement.

On the palate, it is concentrated and medium- to full-bodied, offering a deep core of plum, cassis, and dark fruit supported by compact, persistent tannins. Rich and velvety yet vibrant, the wine maintains balance and freshness through a crisp, focused finish, showcasing the elegance, structure, and intensity that define Jonathan Maltus’ distinctive Napa Valley wines.
