Usquaebach Old Rare, a classic Scotch that’s been around for more than 200 years, is an exceptionally high-quality blended whisky with a high malt content.
Usquaebach Old-Rare Blended Scotch Whisky
Usquaebach, meaning “Water of Life” in Scottish Gaelic and the origin of the word “whisky,” was founded in 1877 and is now skillfully handcrafted by a respected family-owned house with expertise in whisky blending. Committed to tradition, quality, and craft, the renowned Master Blender selects exceptional single malts and aged grain whiskies from distinguished Scottish Highlands distillers. This careful curation results in four distinct scotch expressions, each offering a harmonious complexity of flavors.
Usquaebach’s signature blend, “Old-Rare,” traces its roots back to the 1700s and comprises 41 meticulously chosen single malts aged up to 20 years, along with two exceptional green whiskeys from the Highlands. Dominated by single malts at 85%, this blend carries the history of scotch whisky, symbolized by Usquaebach’s porcelain flagon, and has gained global recognition from connoisseurs.
Characterized by its remarkable complexity and adaptability, the “Old-Rare” whisky is a rewarding choice for both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers. Notably presented in a distinctive “trophy” case, it boasts an ABV of 43% and a rich amber hue. The aroma offers cedar wood, cracked pepper, crème brûlée, and pipe tobacco, leading to a palate of coffee beans, white chocolate, and pine forest. The finish is refined, marked by warm spices, malted barley, and an enduring charm.
