Phelps Creek Chardonnay is a balanced wine with citrus, apple, and white melon aromas, enhanced by cool climate acidity and volcanic soil nuances.
Phelps Creek Chardonnay
Phelps Creek is a small boutique winery that specializes in the creation of cooler-climate wines within the Columbia Gorge region, with a specific focus on varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and several other grape varietals. This emphasis culminates in an annual production of 5,000 cases of wine. Under the careful stewardship of Alexandrine Roy, a fourth-generation winemaker from Gevrey-Chambertin, France, the vineyards receive meticulous care, contributing to the overall quality of the wines.
Their chardonnay is a light yellow and gold-hued wine with aromas of citrus, apple, and white melon. The cool climate cultivation imparts a beautiful acid balance, while volcanic soils add spice and mineral elements, creating a well-rounded and balanced wine.
