Monte Alban is named for the mountaintop settlement in Oaxaca, Mexico known for its agave plants, both cultivated and wild. Made from 100% Espadin agave using centuries-old traditions and techniques, each bottle contains the famous Agave worm. Apocryphal legends note that the worm gives strength to anyone brave enough to gulp it down; some even believe it acts as an aphrodisiac. Monte Alban Mezcal has a pale straw hue and pungent spice, wood, and mineral aromas. A rounded, supple start leads to a smooth, medium-bodied, exotically peppery finish.
