The Michel Tete Juliénas Cuvee Tradition, sourced from vines thriving in thin volcanic soils above Juliénas, delights with its enticing aromas of red berries, pomegranate, and spices, leading to a medium-bodied, bright, and juicy palate that’s both fleshy and giving, making it best enjoyed in its youth. This remarkable Gamay wine, crafted from 60+ year old vines nestled 350 meters above sea level in an amphitheater-like setting, draws its unique character from granite-based sites enriched with ancient alluvial deposits, some sandy soils, and a fair amount of clay, rooted in the region’s renowned volcanic blue stone bedrock. With a semi-carbonic vinification process in cement, indigenous yeast, and aging in the same medium, it offers a silky texture to complement its complex bouquet of raspberries, mulberries, and rose petals, creating a truly gorgeous representation of Juliénas.
