Lagavulin 8yr Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Lagavulin Distillery was founded in 1816 and is located in the village of Lagavulin on the island of Isla. Lagavulin is known for producing very heavily peated single malts, thanks to using heavily peated barley and short stills with wide necks. It is currently owned by Diageo and is a part of their Classic Malts brands.
Lagavulin 8yr is a 200-anniversary edition and a revival of this “exceptionally fine” whisky, it was matured in refill American and European casks, and bottled at 48% alc/vol.
The aroma reveals a combination of sweet fruit, smoke, and tar, capturing the classic Lagavulin essence. The palate delivers a bold experience with prominent smokiness, richness, freshness, and earthiness, accompanied by layers of smoke that gradually lead to a drying sensation. The finish is impressively long, offering a clean and smoky conclusion to the tasting experience.
