Lab Red Wine 2013
Lab red wine bursts from the glass with aromas of black cherries, spice box, blueberry jam and hints of white chocolate.  Yet for all that fruit character it’s also muscular and able to stand up to the heartiest of grilled steaks, cheddar and bacon loaded potatoes, or a simple duck confit and arugula salad.
José Luís Santos Lima Oliveira da Silva, the owner and winemaker of this, his eponymous winery, loves dogs.  Specifically Labradors.  He personally shares his life and vineyards with 16 of them.  But not only that, proceeds from this bottle of wine go to homeless dog shelters to try and save the animals he personally cannot take in.
