Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2015 is a rich, spicy wine with smooth honeyed tones, lanolin, honeycomb complexity, and a succulent finish.

Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc is the realization of Kevin Judd’s long-held dream, showcased through his Marlborough label. The name Greywacke, inspired by the prevalence of rounded greywacke river stones in their first vineyard in Rapaura, reflects the high-quality winemaking venture established by Kevin and his wife, Kimberley. Kevin registered the name in 1993, envisioning its use for a future wine label.

This quality-focused venture harvests fruit from mature vineyards in the central Wairau Plains and Southern Valleys, employing yield-restricting vineyard management techniques and intense canopy management. The wines are crafted by Kevin at Dog Point Winery, courtesy of friends Ivan Sutherland and James Healy. The Greywacke portfolio centers on sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, with limited edition releases of chardonnay, pinot gris, riesling, and gewurztraminer. Kevin’s vineyard photographs contribute to the unmistakable identity of the Greywacke range.

Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2015 is supple, rich, and spicy. The wine features smooth, honeyed overtones, with nuances of lanolin and honeycomb adding complexity to the core of pear and peach flavors. The finish is smooth and succulent.
