FEW Single Malt

For nearly a century Evanston, Illinois, the home of the Temperance Movement, was a dry city. In dire need of liquor laws that weren’t penned the same years as the invention of the band-aid, FEW’s master distiller Paul Hletko overturned century-old prohibition laws to become Evanston’s first distiller of grain spirits within the city limits. In a world chock-full of mass-produced spirits, only few remain truly handcrafted, and small-batched. FEW Spirits are a new take on timeless distilling techniques, and transcend the oft-ordinary taste we’ve all grown accustomed to. Distilled from the very best grains, aged to perfection, and bottle under their own roof, FEW remains in their own hands until distribution. FEW Rye was even names craft whiskey of the year in 2013 by Whiskey Advocate – no small accomplishment.

From the first waft of the nose all the way to the lingering finish, this little beauty is rich and endlessly comforting. It’s like dark chocolate and Ovaltine met and created a gorgeous single malt, the most wonderful love story never written.

NOSE: Barley and hay start things out with some nice notes of butterscotch fudge and mushrooms. Raw sugar and dusty grains mix in the background and help create a pleasant earthy aroma with a touch of sweetness.

PALATE: Subtle notes of wood, raw grains, citrus and ambiguous sweetness combine with a touch of astringency in a flavor that’s rich

FINISH: Long and full of barley, alfalfa, hay, raw grains and a warm earthy undertone that rides out for the entirety of the finish.
