A 7-year-old Caol Ila from Douglas Laing’s Old Particular range. Distilled in October 2010 and bottled in September 2018 from a single refill hogshead. One of 374 bottles, at 48.4% ABV.

Nose: A dose of Big Peat with sweet smoke, bbq embers, vanilla, rock pools and salt.

Palate: Honey sweet, hard Scottish tablet with maritime notes and bluberries.

Finish: Long and enjoyable moving to toasted Malted barley and bbq’d meet.
