Choya Umeshu Shiso Liqueur

Choya Umeshu Shiso Liqueur is the original version of Choya’s ume plum liqueur given an infusion of shiso herb. According to the Kitazawa Seed Company, the shiso herb (also called perilla), is an anise (black licorice) flavored herb that comes in green and red varieties, the red with a slightly more cinnamon taste. Choya Umeshu Shiso uses the red variety, which results in the coloring of this liqueur. Shiso is believed to strengthen the immune system.
