Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico 2016
The Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico 2014, rooted in the XIVth century, holds historical significance with documented vineyards and olive groves. Giovanni da Verrazzano, the renowned navigator, and discoverer of New York’s bay, was born here in 1485. The estate passed to the Florentine Ridolfi family, leaving a lasting legacy in agriculture and culture. The Cappellini family restored the castle in 1958, reclaiming its former glory and establishing it as a reference winery in the area.
This vibrant red Chianti Classico boasts an intense and persistent bouquet of cherry, blackberry, and floral notes (red roses). The taste is dry with sweet tannins, featuring refined red fruits and a hint of mint on the mid-palate. It is gorgeously perfumed and deep on the palate, with an expressive character.
