Description

This Chardonnay comes from the Boyer-Martenot lineage and the Boyer de Bar collaboration, using 100% organically grown Chardonnay from the Hérault Valley in southern France, vinified in Meursault, Burgundy. Medium-gold in color, it shows aromatic notes of lemon, key lime, peach, almond, and subtle herbs, combining southern fruit intensity with Burgundian precision.

Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, followed by 12 months in oak barrels (about 20% new) and an additional 8 months of élevage in concrete eggs and stainless steel. The palate is medium to medium-full bodied, offering refreshing acidity, a lightly savory edge, and a textured, focused finish that balances power with freshness.

The project was founded in 2018 by Vincent Boyer of Domaine Boyer-Martenot and Emmanuel Lucas de Bar, whose family farms historic, certified-organic vineyards near Pézenas on sandy clay and limestone soils. Hand-harvested fruit and long, careful élevage — mirroring top Meursault practices — result in a wine of clarity, complexity, and terroir expression, bridging Languedoc richness with Burgundian elegance.
