Faust Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Faust Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Faust Cabernet Sauvignon pays homage to rich winemaking tradition, utilizing state-of-the-art techniques to showcase Cabernet Sauvignon’s enduring legacy.

Agustin Huneeus passionately curates Cabernet Sauvignon for Faust from his family-owned vineyards in Rutherford and Coombsville, supplemented by small lots from exceptional terroirs across Napa Valley’s diverse landscapes, including Yountville, Mount Veeder, Atlas Peak, St. Helena, and Rutherford.

Inspired by Goethe’s legendary tale, Faust mirrors the richness and decadence of Napa Valley’s noblest grape, the Cabernet Sauvignon. Unlike Dr. Faust, Agustin Huneeus navigates his winemaking journey without encountering Mephistopheles. The essence of Faust lies in its commitment to showcasing the complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon and the diversity of Napa Valley.

The winemaking process is meticulously carried out at the Quintessa winery in Rutherford, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. Grapes undergo hand-picking, double-sorting, gentle crushing, and fermentation in stainless steel and French oak tanks. Following cold soak and fermentation, an extended maceration period of up to three weeks extracts critical flavor, aroma, and color compounds. The wine then matures in French oak barrels for 19 months, capturing the essence of Napa Valley’s diverse terroirs. Faust is a tribute to the artistry of winemaking and the enduring legacy of Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley.
